| After Long Winter, Area Golfers Hit The Links |
|
JacksonBlazer writes, "A famous poet once said that. In the spring a young man’s fancy lightly turns to thoughts of love. This poet must have been a golfer, because I’m sure he was really talking about golf. Springtime brings thoughts of golf to action-especially in those areas of the country, like Michigan, where we have to wait for the snow to melt before we can hit the links."

It was a long winter, especially for those anxious to swing the stixs, and were unable to go south for a vacation during the snowy season. Towards the end of March, just when we thought the snow was gone, we woke up the next morning to three inches of freshly fallen snow.
Now that spring is here, area courses that were closed for the winter are back in action and golfers once again can hold on to that optimistic feeling of lowering that handicap, at least until the month of June, and then you realize you are glad that golfing doesn’t pay the bills. Each week be sure to read to The Jackson Blazer for local golfing news, tournament dates and locations and tournament results. Enjoy the golfing season, and play the area courses. The Jackson/Lansing area have top quality golf courses at reasonable rates!!
